Physiotherapy
What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a treatment method used to restore movement and function. It can be used to both treat and prevent injuries.
There are 3 main branches of physiotherapy:
1 – Musculoskeletal (MSK)
2 – Neurology
3 – Respiratory
At Rehab and Reload ltd, we practice musculoskeletal physiotherapy which focuses on muscles and joints, and we specialise in Women’s Health (read Women’s Health section to find out more).
Who is it suitable for?
Physiotherapy can be useful for people of all ages and health conditions.
Conditions treated?
(This list includes but is not limited to the following)
-
Muscle / tendon / ligament injuries e.g.: strains, sprains and tears
-
Joint injuries including fractures and stiffness
-
Post operative rehabilitation
-
Movement based problems related to the nervous system and balance / coordination
-
Ante and post-natal conditions including pelvic girdle pain and incontinence
How is treatment carried out?
At Rehab and Reload ltd a holistic approach is taken, where the body is treated as a whole and not just the site of injury. Where appropriate, manual therapy is used to help relieve pain and mobilise the body. Exercises are tailored around each individual to improve mobility and strength. And lastly, recommendations are made to help management and prevention of injuries.
